Course Curator
Dr. Manjula Anagani
Background & Course Introduction
- Robotic surgery has become the cornerstone for many gynecological procedures including Hysterectomies and
- Laparoscopic surgery stands on the shoulders of open surgery and robotic surgery stands on the shoulders of laparoscopic surgery.
- It is a common belief that to be a good robotic surgeon we need to learn and unlearn laparoscopic skills. There is a paucity of courses delving into this aspect of robotic surgery, namely,” back to the basics.
Aims & Objectives

- An unprecedented opportunity to have hands-on experience on the simulator
- Didactic talks focusing on technical aspects of basic and advanced robotic surgery
What should participants expect at the end of the course?
- Understand the nuances of various robotic platforms with hands-on training on simulators
- Understand the port positioning and role of the bedside surgeon
- Understand troubleshooting and management of such situations
- Understand and learn the basic steps of common robotic surgeries through demonstrations and simulator training
